Robyn – ”Konichiwa Bitches” (2005)
Robyn och Klas Åhlund hittade begreppet ”Konichiwa Bitches” i en sketch med den amerikanska komikern Dave Chappelle.
Robyn har själv berättat:
”In the end this member of the group Wu-Tang Clan comes up and they’re supposed to decide if he’s Asian or black and at the end the Asians get him. He goes up on stage and says ‘Koni-chi-WAA Bitches’, and it’s like the most funny thing I know. It’s funny and fiesty [sic] and cool.”
Sedan tävlade hon och Åhlund i att hitta nya ”lines” till sången, gärna så ”spacade” som möjligt.
”Were calling each other, hitting each other off with new lines. It was almost like a competition for a while like who could be the craziest. And we would call each other like, listen to this one!”
Resultatet är fantastiskt! Mycket mer hiphop än något som Robyn hade gjort innan och faktiskt… hysteriskt rolig utan att bli fånigt. Tycker det påminner en hel del om M.I.A.
