Dusty Springfield – “What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?” (1970)
Här har vi alla fyra väderstrecken på en och samma gång!
Låten skrevs till filmen The Happy Ending (1969). Text av Alan Bergman/Marilyn Bergman och musik av Michel Legrand.
I filmen har sångtiteln en dubbel mening. Den hänvisar till frieriet som filmens kvinnliga huvudperson tackar ja till sexton år tidigare. Men det blev inte som hon tänkt sig och nu måste den deprimerade hemmafrun verkligen fundera på vad hon vill göra resten av livet, när kärleken och äktenskapet inte höll måttet.
I Dustys version är låten framför allt romantisk. Låten spelades in 1970 men förblev outgiven fram till 1994.
